Volunteer

Valley Immigrant Advocates welcomes talented, hardworking volunteers who are committed to our mission. Volunteers may assist with general administrative and clerical work, including filing, file organizing, photocopying, answering phones, shipping and mailing, drafting routine correspondence, and covering the front desk, in addition to work in the volunteer’s area of interest.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES*

Administrative – assisting the administrative team with creating, maintaining and updating various administrative and fundraising databases; maintaining electronic and paper filing systems; providing support to fundraising and donor outreach efforts and other tasks as needed.

Development – assisting our administrative team with grant research, grant writing, grant reporting, and coordination of fundraisers.

Legal – assisting our legal teams with legal administrative support, including data entry, translations, and other tasks as needed (work varies by program, needs, and language skills).

Communications – developing our social media exposure. Assisting in the further development of our website and publicity.

Research – assisting our legal team with country conditions reports, legal research, and general immigration research.

Skills-Based – if you are a professional who is interested in donating your time to VIA, please fill out our volunteer application and indicate your area of expertise.

Translations – assisting our legal team with translation of legal and other documents (Spanish).

  • You will be contacted to schedule an interview.
  • Acceptance into volunteering program.
  • Attend mandatory orientation and training.

*Please note that Valley Immigrant Advocates only accepts volunteers over the age of 18.
